("I hate to go and leave this pretty si-ight!" :))
Well, the time is here to sign off from blogging. For the foreseeable future at least. It's six weeks or so shy of three years that I started this blog. 2930 posts later I can say that it's been quite a wonderful experience. I'm especially grateful to all the wonderful people I've gotten to know through this medium.
Unless I hear otherwise, the blog itself will stay up on the web. Other notes:
Facebook: I created a profile for Gashwin on Facebook that will probably be taken down. The real me is on Facebook already.
Del.icio.us: Links to what I'm currently reading, on the right sidebar.
Newsletter: While I can't blog (I believe it's the public nature of the blogosphere that's the real problem), for those who're interested in the further adventures of Gashwin Gomes, are invited to drop me an email (gashwingomesAThotmailDOTcom) to sign up for a periodic newsletter that I'll be sending out.
Most importantly, please keep my vocation in your prayers, and continue to pray that more men will respond to the call to serve the Lord and His Church in the ministerial priesthood.
So, au revoir! Arrivederci! Ciao! Dos vidaniya! Khuda Hafiz!
Or, as we say in Gujarati Aavjo! Which roughly translates to what we say in the South as well: "Y'all come back now!"
Karis kai eirene,
Gashwin

Au revoir, ciao, deos de acompana and the like to the blog Gashwin. IT was a good run.
To the Mount of Our Dear Lady
Gashwin’s going in the Fall.
There he’ll enter seminary
In the Holy Year of Paul.
And we'-ll follow his adven-tures
But I doubt we’ll find them here –
And there’ll be a twinge of sadness
‘cross the Catholic blogosphere.
Maior autem his est caritas
is a first stop for the day;
There we’ve read of India and
using Latin when we pray.
Gashwin Gomes has been our travel-guide
Through discipleship and Rome
And we’ll wish him all God’s blessings
From his Carolina home.
(Tune: Come, Thou Fount)
You'll be missed. Lizzie.
Congratulations on your new beginning!
Will miss this wonderful blog.
Hopefully it will redevelop in the future.
Love the diddy St. Lizzy
More compelling calls beckon, Gashwin. As he says,
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over, and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth, the time of the
singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle
is heard in the land.
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the
vines with the tender grape give a good smell.
Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away
Let it be known when you are free to talk again.
With vast admiration and esteem
Mac
I am really going to miss your online presence.
Congratulations and prayers on the way!
It is as if 1000's of Catholics all cried out in horror at once and then were suddenly silenced

We'll miss you. But what you give up for Him, He will give you back multiplied a zillionfold.
I am a priest involved in this mess called a Church for more than 20 years now. You'll no doubt remove this message and make what will seem like a good justification for ignoring me. But PLEASE, remember this post: you are making a HUGE fucking mistake. The Church is completely and utterly corrupt, this is the worst life I could imagine and I feel trapped in a thousand ways. Get out now while it's still relatively easy.
Well, no sense in standing around here jawing, so pick up your cross and get moving! ;-)
Good luck and may God bless you.
As, for "Fr. James", it sounds like he needs to spend some time with us in Lincoln, Nebraska.
You are filled with the Holy Spirit, G. I pray it will always be your guide and friend, esp. in your years as a seminarian. Yours in Christ, Paul.
I am so sorry to see one of the few truly sane and thoughtful Catholic blogs ending, Gashwin. Yours was one of the few "Catholic" blogs where I also could find some good old fashioned Christian charity to all who ventured here and left their thoughts.
Godspeed, my friend and Good luck in all you do.
I will miss your blog, but I know how to find you. My prayers continue for your studies and your ministry.
