Pope Benedict's official greeting to the people of the United States

Full text up at Rocco's. READ IT. (Rocco also has a link to a Real Audio file of the speech.) Talk to your parish secretaries and have it published in this weekend's bulletin. And tell everyone you know not to follow the MSM coverage of the visit (which will be tired and cliched and just OLD. One example brilliantly fisked here.). Check out the various cool folks on the internet (see top of the left sidebar) for great coverage of the trip.

I was absolutely thrilled to see that one paragraph (and part of the final blessing) was in Spanish.

Other links at AmPapist. The video greeting was supposed to be broadcast this morning at 11 am (EDT): As AmP writes, "not the smoothest rollout" however.

And the only place the full video is up is at CNN!

Go watch it.

It's when I was reading the text that it finally hit me ... he's going to be here next week!

Sent the news to my in-laws. They'll be in DC next week.

Hope they know he's coming :)

Check out AmPapist: he's put up the motorcade routes. Maybe they can wave at him as he passes by ...
