BSG - Last Supper?
Is it just me or is the above image (screenshot from the Battlestar Galactica website at Scifi.com) reminiscent of the Last Supper?
So -- what did y'all think of last night's season premier? I'll give it a generous 8 out of 10. I do hope that the show recovers a bit over this final season.
And what of Balthar's seemingly heart-felt self-sacrificial prayer? Shades of Gethsemane? Abraham & Isaac? I find the theology of BSG to be interesting -- the whole monotheism/One True God vs. polytheism angle and so on. By this time, however, I don't really think the writers have anything coherent or substantial in mind ...

I thought it was a good episode, sort of a return to form after the misguided stand-alone episodes of the second half of last season. One of the great things about BSG is that is a show that honestly examines the many facets of religious belief and spirituality, even if it's a polytheistic Greco-Roman religion.
I feel that this show is largely attractive to those who didn't have a girlfriend in high school. Discuss.
baltar is going to be a reluctant christ messiah. he even looked like jesus with that beard. you heard it here first.
1. To Gashwin:
Of course it looks like The Last Supper. It's supposed to. The fun is in mapping the BSG characters onto those in the painting.
2. To EcceAdam:
Not only did I have a gf in hs, I married her. We're approaching our 25th anniversary, and we host the frak parties. Time to holster the smugness and find another theory.
3. To coray:
Those who are writing Baltar with a messiah complex and those who designed the picture G posted should really talk to one another sometime.
Moore's spoilers on the composition here:
