The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin

Links from last year's post at Mike Aquilina's blog.

Occasional blog-friend Sr. Susan Rose CSJP, ends her canonical year of novitiate today. Prayers and blessings!

Fr. Jim Tucker has this poem by Poe (along with links to notes) which is fitting for today's celebration:
Catholic Hymn

AT morn — at noon — at twilight dim —
Maria! thou hast heard my hymn!
In joy and woe — in good and ill —
Mother of God, be with me still!
When the Hours flew brightly by
And not a cloud obscured the sky,
My soul, lest it should truant be,
Thy grace did guide to thine and thee;
Now, when storms of Fate o'ercast
Darkly my Present and my Past,
Let my Future radiant shine
With sweet hopes of thee and thine!

-- Edgar Allan Poe

Thanks!

I was at St Paul's this week (visiting Steve and taking advantage of Paulist hospitality), but sadly you were not there so we did not get to meet in person. :(

Next time.
