India on Time's cover

For the 60th anniversary of Indian (and Pakistani) independence, on August 15. Well, on the cover of the Europe and Asia editions. Apparently, India doesn't make the cut for the US edition. Surprise, surprise. And, Time making India a cover story is news in of itself -- one of the editors was on the nightly news discussing the story on NDTV.

It's actually a pretty decent series. I just read the one story that traces the history of three generations of a middle class family from Partition to the current boom. I think I'll buy a print edition and read the rest.

And while some of it seems to follow the template that this blog (hat tip to Desipundit) points about stories about India in foreign media, I think they manage to get somewhat in-depth.
