"Santo subito" -- One step closer

The diocesan investigation into the life, virtues and fame of holiness of John Paul II will conclude in the Cathedral of Rome on 2 April the 2nd anniversary of the death of the late Pontiff (Fides)
This was announced by Cardinal Camillo Ruini, the Pope’s Vicar for the diocese of Rome in a letter addressed to the clergy, deacons, religious, and lay faithful of Rome. The Cardinal had been informed of the conclusion by the Postulator of the cause for the late Pope’s beatification and canonisation Mgr Slawomir Oder. The opening session was held in St John’s on 28 June 2005,less than the normal three months period after the death of John Paul II thanks to a special dispense granted by Pope Benedict XVI.
