Not safe for Fido
Beijing i.e. Apparently there's a cruel crackdown on dogs being enforced by the Chinese government. The pictures above show officials clubbing a dog to death.
Oh my gosh. My husband and I were talking about this last night. We were walking down the street and some pet owners got too close to one another and their dogs started barking a lot at each other. They'd better stop, he said, or those dogs might attract too much attention. He told me about the crackdown on unregistered dogs going on where they will kill the dog immediately in front of you. There's been a growing problem with strays and diseased dogs.
But in better news, the local animal hospital is putting out the word with signs and tables set up in the expat neighborhoods for people to get their animals treated there.
