St. Ignatius of Antioch

One of the earliest things I remember reading on my journey to the Church (back when) was that neat Penguin volume of "Early Christian Writings" that included, inter alia, St. Ignatius' letters (to the Romans and the Smyrnans). He remains a fascinating character.

Today, these lines, which were the Responsory at the end of the Office of Readings (and which were the subject of the homily at Mass) really resonate:
Faith, indeed is the beginning. Love is the end.

Great stuff, as is to be expected, at Mike Aquilina's ... in a post delightfully titled, Iggy Pop. :-)
