What unity would require ...

at least as far as the Orthodox are concerned, according to Fr. Thomas Hopko the retired Dean of St. Vladimir Seminary. Pretty interesting ... if these are the basic conditions, it will be hard to see how to proceed. Unity, of course, one should remember, is of divine origin. [As to the second point on doctrinal changes ... does the Catholic Church actually teach modalism? However, I think on the Filioque it is quite clear that the Orthodox practice is, well, quite orthodox, and also historically prior. However, I don't think the Western addition, properly understood is heretical.]
