The Retreat: more pictures

Some of the novices in front of the retreat house. The weather was generally awesome, though it was grey and rainy yesterday.

Love the clouds!

Another view of the chapel.

The grave of Fr. Bob Moran CSP. For a while, Fr. Bob used to come down to SC annually (until the cancer struck three years ago) to celebrate Holy Week with a couple of small rural priestless parishes in the Upstate. I last saw him when I visited St. Paul's in February -- his brain cancer seemed to be under control. I recall him sharing at breakfast how he felt that he was being stripped of everything, body and mind. He also celebrated the daily Mass that day. Apparently, the following month everything went downhill. He went to his eternal reward on April 8. Requiescat in pace.

Many (though not all) Paulists are buried in this cemetary near the retreat house ... the gravestones go back to 1960. Prior to that, I think, many were interred at St. Paul the Apostle in New York City. Posted by Picasa
