Amber waves of grain ...

Boy, there's sure a lot of corn in Ohio and Indiana!

An uneventful drive to Chicago today. Had the afternoon off, so got to spend time with the fam (uncles, various cousins in town for a mini reunion. I caught the tail end), and then quite randomly, bumping into a friend from SC in Bloomingdales! What are the chances of that? Posted by Picasa

Driving through Ohio & Indiana on a family & youth group trip in the mid-1970's, I learned to call them "grits trees." Makes you appreciate the corn all the more.

I once ran into an acquaintance from USC at 11:00pm on the train in Chicago.

Hmm...grits trees. I like that.
