Jewish shops in Rome vandalized
(From the Washington Post). I must write about my one visit to the synagogue in Rome, in 2003. One of the remarks the tour guide mentioned has stuck with me, when I asked how it was for Jews in Rome today. "Well, there's about 50,000 of us, and 500,000 Muslims." (I may be recollecting the numbers incorrectly, but the proportion seems right). This particular attack seems to have been connected to neofascist groups, though.
