... in the latest Time. Talking to psychologists who interview seminarian candidates. Pretty interesting article.
And then there's this accompanying story that, again, just doesn't get it.
"What will the Bishops do next?" expresses puzzlement that the Synod isn't tackling the seminarian issue. Um, hello? It's the Synod on the Eucharist, get it? Obviously they missed the memo -- there's no mention of the topic of the Synod in the article. Maybe Time doesn't understand why, when 250 Bishops are getting together in the Vatican, they're not talking about the issues that the media in the US are interested about. Go figure ...

Oh well, that will undoubtedly be the essential query when I get around to complying with my Muslim friend Fatema's insistence that I take her and a party of fellow exotics to church. I'm trying to figure out which upcoming Sunday will have (a) a decent sized congregation and (b) a decent quantity of splendid music, smoke and choreography. I have this droll scenario in mind of our exiting afterwards: "Good morning, Father. This is Fatema; she is a Bohri Muslim. This is her husband Shabbir; he is also a Bohri Muslim. This is Mohammed; he is a Sunni Muslim. This is Vaibhav; he is a Hindu. This is his brother Vipul, also a Hindu. And this is Sam. He is...well, nothing very interesting, I'm afraid. He's an Anglican."
